The Cumbria Diversity Carnival is an annual community celebration that brings people together to recognise and celebrate diversity in all its forms. Through colourful parades, music, creativity, and community participation, the carnival showcases the many cultures, identities, abilities, and experiences that make Cumbria such a vibrant place to live.
Organised in partnership with local community groups, schools, and organisations, the carnival promotes inclusion, understanding, and belonging while creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds to come together, connect, and celebrate what we have in common. The event welcomes everyone and aims to foster a more inclusive and welcoming Cumbria for all.

“I had the privilege of being part of the organising team for the Cumbria Diversity Carnival. It was a fantastic experience bringing together various cultures and communities, including a strong representation of the LGBT community”
